Proper Care of Bulbs

Extend the life of your bulbs

Bulbs are very fragile. When changing a bulb, never touch the actual bulb itself. The oils on your fingers may get transferred to the bulb causing a hot spot. This may cause it  to explode or burn out faster when the overhead projector is on.  Use a cloth or a tissue to handle the bulb when installing it in the overhead projector.

Some guidelines for bulb movement

Cold lamps can be moved without concern. Bulbs that are on can be moved carefully.  Bulbs that are cooling down are very apt to break with any movement. Always let it cool down completely.
